Peanut Butter Banana Toast
Crisp toast, peanut butter, banana coins, honey and flaky salt.
Maui's an app that plans a whole week of dinners like this one. See how it works ↓
Salt on peanut butter toast sounds like a rounding error and is not. Peanut butter is already salty, but flaky salt sits ON TOP and hits the tongue before the sweetness does - which is what stops honey-and-banana reading as dessert at 7am.

Instructions
Knife work first, then the stove. Nothing below asks you to chop while something burns.
- Slice the bananas into coins just before you build the toast - they brown within a few minutes of being cut.
Toast
Toast the bread until properly golden and crisp. Peanut butter is heavy and warm soft toast collapses under it - you want a slice with some structure.
3 min · hands onSpread and build
Spread the peanut butter over the hot toast - it melts slightly into the crumb, which is the point of doing it while hot. Shingle the banana coins over the top, overlapping like roof tiles so every bite has some.
2 min · hands onFinish
Drizzle with honey, dust with ground cinnamon, and finish with a pinch of flaky sea salt. Eat standing up if that is the kind of morning it is.

Every swap here is one Maui already knows how to make, including what it does to the timing.
A small bowl alongside - adds about 10g protein and a cool contrast. Adds about 1 minutes.
1 tsp over the honey - they stick to it and add a little crunch.
What keeps
Assembled toast is soggy in ten minutes and there is nothing to make ahead - the whole thing is five minutes. This is a make-it-now breakfast.
