Terms of Service

This is an agreement between you and Eat With Maui LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Maui," "we"). By creating an account or using the Maui app, you agree to these terms. You can reach us at hello@eatwithmaui.com.

1. What Maui is

Maui plans meals. It generates weekly plans from your preferences, builds grocery lists, guides cooking, and answers food questions in chat. Some features use artificial intelligence, and AI can be wrong. See Section 4, which is the most important section in this document.

2. Your account

You may use Maui anonymously, or signed in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13. You can delete your account at any time in Profile, then Delete account.

3. Subscriptions

Maui offers an auto-renewing subscription: $9.99 per month, or $89 per year, after a 30 day free trial.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, once the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel in your device's Settings, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
When a trial ends without subscribing, your last plan and saved recipes stay viewable. Generating new plans and using chat require a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple's terms.

4. Food safety, allergens, and health

Maui is an aid, not a guarantee. Maui filters recipes and suggestions against the allergies and dietary preferences you give it, and we build those filters to fail closed. But recipes, substitutions, and AI-generated content can contain errors, and packaged food formulations change without notice.

Always read ingredient labels on everything you buy, every time.
Always use your own judgment about what is safe for you to eat. If a dish looks wrong for your allergy, do not cook it, and please tell us.
Maui provides no medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Nothing in the app is a substitute for a doctor, an allergist, or a registered dietitian. Descriptive tags (like "High-protein") are editorial labels, not clinical measurements.
Cooking carries inherent risks: heat, knives, raw ingredients. Follow safe food-handling practice. Cook times in the app are estimates.

5. AI-generated content

Plans, portion scaling, substitutions, and chat replies are generated by AI. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation despite our safeguards. You are responsible for reviewing them before relying on them. Chat is for food topics. It is not a crisis service, and it declines medical questions by design.

6. Your content

Recipes you create, import, edit, or rate remain yours. You grant us the license we need to store, display, scale, and process them in order to run the service for you. Do not import content you have no right to use. We may remove content that is unlawful or abusive.

7. Acceptable use

No reverse engineering, scraping, automated bulk access, abusing rate limits, or attempting to reach other people's data. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND ACCURACY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EAT WITH MAUI LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY ALLERGIC REACTION OR ADVERSE HEALTH EFFECT ARISING FROM FOOD PREPARED OR CONSUMED WHERE YOU DID NOT FOLLOW THE VERIFICATION STEPS IN SECTION 4. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW SOME OF THESE LIMITATIONS, IN WHICH CASE THEY DO NOT APPLY TO YOU.

9. Termination

You can stop using Maui and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged in the app. Continuing to use Maui after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

Texas law governs these terms, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
